Wabi-Sabi is a Japanese way of life that seeks to discover beauty in imperfection. Perfect is repeatable and imperfect is perfect. The abrash, or mottled effect created by the hand dying of the wool guarantees that no two rugs are the same and contributes to the feeling of depth in the design.
Organic fields of rich texture and sophisticated colour palettes are combined with balanced linear planes of colour. A consistent pile height emphasises the contrasting textures of wool and the lustre of the bamboo silk amongst the subtle layers of colour.
Wabi-Sabi Ashwood is hand made to order in Tibetan or Persian knotting in wool to any custom size.
