Banksias are one of Jenny’s favourite flowers as well as one of Australia’s most recognisable wildflowers. Their serrated leaves and spikey, textured flowers are typical of the harsh bush yet become soft and luxurious in pure silk. The motifs in Sultan are inspired by a rug Jenny saw in a small village in the Cappadocia area of Turkey. Rugs from this area would traditionally have been red and navy and have a flat, cut pile.
